Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a gentle, holistic therapy that works by stimulating specific points on the body with very fine needles to restore balance and support the body’s natural healing process. Rooted in ancient Chinese medicine and backed by modern research, acupuncture is a whole-body medicine that can help, among other things, reduce pain, relieve stress, improve energy, and promote overall well-being. If you have questions about whether acupuncture can help you, please reach out to Kim directly.
Stone Medicine
Stone Medicine uses the natural properties of crystals, stones and minerals to support balance and well-being. Each stone is selected for its specific qualities—such as grounding, calming, or energizing—and applied in ways that complement the body’s natural healing processes and promote the acupuncture protocol selected specifically for you. Together, these therapies create a holistic approach that nurtures physical health and emotional well-being.
Acupuncture and Stone Medicine
Your treatment will be individualized to your specific needs and will entail a unique combination of acupuncture and stone medicine. Where appropriate and with your consent, your services may also include:
- Cupping – In this therapy, special cups are placed on your skin to create suction. Cupping is used to treat pain, inflammation, congestion and restricted blood flow, and promotes relaxation and well-being. This modality can leave round, cup marks on your body which fade within a matter of days.
- Gua Sha – Gua sha involves applying massage oil or liniment and scraping your skin with a smooth massage tool to improve circulation and break up stagnation. This modality may leave temporary red marks which fade over a couple of days.
- Moxabustion – Moxa is a form of heat therapy in which dried mugwort herb is burned close to the surface of the skin. Moxa warms and invigorates the flow of energy and blood in the body and dispels certain pathogenic factors. Because this modality is smoky and not recommended for inside use, I will provide you with the tools to self-treat at home.
- E Stim – Electroacupuncture is a very effective treatment for certain types of pain, fatigue, and chronic ailments. Acupuncture needles are attached to a device that delivers gentle electrical pulses, enhancing their effectiveness.
